Every August 8th we have what many astrologers, mystics, and occultists call "The Lions Gate Portal." This is a time when the Sun in Leo, the star Sirius, Orion's Belt, and the Earth all align themselves together. I've heard that, if you are near the Pyramids of Giza on 8/8, you can see the Sirius Star rise, directly over Orion's Belt as it directly aligns with the Pyramid of Giza. We earthlings view it as the brightest star in the sky as it moves closer to earth but it very well maybe a portal as well.
Many of us do not realize how big Sirius Star really is. It is double the size of our Sun, and 25% brighter. In ancient Egypt they worshipped Sirius as the goddess Sopdet, celebrating Sirius' return in the morning sky as the start of the farming season and the beginning of a new year. "Healers and teachers in certain new age communities believe the energy coming from Sirius contains special elevating or activating energy that can help the Earth and her people evolve."
The Lions Gate is a time of increased cosmic energy. The earth and our conscious minds are flowing between the physical and spiritual realms at this time. Many of us will begin to feel higher consciousness, vibrations, and stronger energy fields. Manifestation of all sorts is possible.
This means that on 8/8, the zenith of this energy needs to be focused on manifesting or manifestations of abundance, love, health, fertility, creativity, expression and prosperity. Many consider this, and the days leading up to the Lions Gate as a day(s) of high magickal energy and power. This is also where many vortexes or star gates become more active.
Why is Sirius so important?
The heliacal rising of Sirius marked the flooding of the Nile in Ancient Egypt and the "dog days" of summer for the ancient Greeks, while to the Polynesians, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, the star marked winter and was an important reference for their navigation around the Pacific Ocean.
What does Lions Gate mean in astrology?
According to those who believe in the power of the Lion's Gate Portal, it presents the chance to experience a positive force of energy and manifest our greatest desires. Every year, the opening of this portal gives us a chance to evolve and become a more empowered, stronger, better version of ourselves; and every year it is usually in a different moon phase, creating a different energy each time.
